The BMW M 1000 XR Born to lead

This is it: the lightest and most powerful production crossover bike in the world. Nothing less. An M bike through and through. Trimmed down for maximum performance – in this case, long-distance performance. That's why it's called the M XR. Or, as we like to call it: MaXimizeR. Because this bike maximizes everything: your riding experience, your endurance and, whenever you want, your adrenaline. Alternatively, you can confidently relax while traveling great distances. After all, you know you can leave almost everyone behind on a whim. #NeverStopChallenging

FEATURES
The perfect start: the M start-up animation

When your M XR starts up, you are immersed in the full M Experience. The TFT display switches on with the unmistakable M start-up animation and shows itself ready for your personal challenges.

Carbon parts: lighter = more power

With the carbon parts of the M Competition package, the M XR is over 6 lbs lighter. These include M Carbon wheels, M Carbon mudguard, M Carbon side sections and M Carbon cockpit interior trim.

Designed for performance right down to the rear

The motorsport genes of the M XR are in every detail: from the M milled parts, such as the M clutch and brake lever, to the slim rear section with steep titanium rear silencer and short license plate carrier.

    Powerful and direct: the engine

The M XR has everything you need for speed. The beating heart is its extremely powerful and high-revving ShiftCam engine with 201 hp and a maximum speed of 14,600 rpm.

Getting performance under control: the M brake

The M brake offers our maximum performance and resistance point and fading stability as well as excellent dosing. Externally, it is recognizable by the blue eloxal coating and M logo.

    Controlled force: with M winglets

The M winglets tame the brute power of the M XR. They generate downforce at high speeds providing greater riding stability, a lower tendency to lift the front wheel, and a smoother ride.

    Fast forward: the ultra-sporty front

The front has an "all-black" finish, including the milled, black, upper fork bridge and legs. The M colors create an unmistakable visual asymmetry and, together with the tinted Sport windscreen, emphasize the bike's performance-oriented character.

An upgrade for the handling: M Carbon wheels

The optional M Carbon wheels with sports tires take the handling of your M XR to an unimaginable level by reducing rotational mass. This way you get full power on the road from first gear.

We understand that a used BMW motorcycle for sale may not be your first choice when thinking of buying a bike. But before you splash out on the latest, state-of-the-art models, check out why a second-hand machine may be a better option for you.

    Save Money

Used motorcycles are less expensive than brand-new ones. Choosing a 12-month-old model instead of a new bike can save you thousands of dollars. With a used model, you won’t have to pay extra costs like registration and road tax since the previous owner would have covered all the additional expenses. Plus, you will save on insurance, as this cost is typically based on the vehicle’s purchase price.

Used Motorcycles Are Great for Learning

If you are looking for a bike to learn on, a used motorcycle is also a better option than a new one. Chances are that you will drop your machine many times before you get the hang of bike riding. So, you will be less worried about scratches if your motorcycle costs $5000 rather than $20,000. You may also want to buy a more powerful bike once you complete your training, so it will be better to spend less on your first motorcycle and start saving up for its replacement.

    Make a More Informed Purchase

Second-hand motorbikes have been around for a longer period of time than new ones. This means that more people have tested and used these old models. So, you are more likely to find more reviews and other helpful information about your preferred used bike than if you are buying a brand new one.

    Get Free Upgrades

A lot of riders like to personalize their motorcycles to their taste. So, they fit their machines with aftermarket accessories to enhance their look, safety, and performance. When you buy a used motorbike from a previous owner, you will also get all these upgrades, usually at no extra cost. So you will not have to go through the hassles of looking for compatible accessories and installing them on your motorcycle.

    Better Return on Value

Although all vehicles reduce in value once they leave the showroom, new motorcycles depreciate more quickly than used ones. A brand-new bike loses half of its value within five years of purchase. So, if you intend to sell your machine in the future, you are more likely to receive a better return on your pre-owned model than if you purchase a new one.
